Changes to How We Book Appointments – Starting from February 2026
We’re making some changes to how appointments are booked at Plashet Practice to meet new NHS England requirements and to help us care for you more effectively.
Until now, appointments have been offered on a first-come, first-served basis. From February 2026, we’ll be moving to a new system that makes sure patients are seen based on their clinical needs and helps provide better continuity of care.
We also want to reduce the 8am rush and make it fairer for everyone, so you’ll get the same service whether you contact us by phone, online, or in person.
From the 2nd February 2026 all enquiries, either by phone, in person, or online, to the Practice will be entered into our online system. Patient enquiries will then be reviewed and appointments allocated based on medical priority.
We will contact you on the same working day with the plan for your care. Please note that request submitted outside of our normal working hours will be reviewed on our next working day.

What can I be seen for?
An enhanced access service appointment is exactly like an appointment at your own GP practice.
Home visits
Home visits are for patients who are too ill or frail to attend the surgery.
If there is any doubt the doctor can discuss your problem and advise you.
Home visits should be requested before 10am if possible.
